Redmagic updates 12 Pro gaming phone with RGB lighting in liquid cooling loop

Redmagic has introduced the 12 Pro, updating its existing liquid-cooling technology with integrated RGB lighting. The lights are embedded directly within the transparent cooling loop, allowing users to configure patterns based on app activity, notifications, or incoming calls.

Initial assessments indicate potential limitations regarding color accuracy. Because the cooling fluid inside the system is inherently bright blue, the RGB lights must interact with that base color. This creates a color-mixing effect where shades like red or orange are obscured by the blue fluid, resulting in a dampened visual output.

This release follows the company’s focus on high-performance cooling for mobile gaming. By incorporating aesthetic features into critical hardware components, Redmagic aims to appeal to the gaming demographic, though the functional integration remains secondary to the visual design choice.
