Redmi Implements Price Increases on Select Smartphone Models in China
Chinese technology firm Redmi, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, has officially adjusted prices upward for several of its popular smartphone models. The changes took effect in early July.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Redmi, part of the Xiaomi conglomerate, has officially raised prices on several of its popular phone models in the Chinese market. The price adjustments affect the Redmi K90 series and the Redmi Note 15 lineup, reflecting increased global component costs.
The standard version of the Redmi K90 has seen a price increase of 200 yuan (approximately $28 USD) across various memory configurations. For instance, the 12GB+256GB model is now priced at 2,799 yuan (around $360 USD), up from its previous 2,599 yuan.
The Redmi Note 15 series experienced a larger price hike, with increases of 300 yuan (approximately $42 USD) per device. The 8GB+128GB version of the base Note 15 model now costs 1,399 yuan (around $180 USD), compared to its earlier price of 1,099 yuan. The Pro and Pro+ variants have also seen corresponding price escalations.
These adjustments mirror wider industry trends where rising costs for key components, such as memory chips, have prompted manufacturers to re-evaluate their pricing strategies. Earlier this year, Xiaomi indicated potential retail price adjustments due to global supply chain challenges. The company has previously sought to balance cost increases with consumer pricing through product matrix upgrades and software optimization.
