Xiaomi has reported a strong start for its latest smartphone, the Redmi K100 Pro Max. Lu Weibing, a partner at Xiaomi and president of the mobile phone division, confirmed that sales on the device's launch day were 150 percent higher than the previous generation's initial sales.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max was officially launched recently, with prices starting at 4199 yuan (approximately $570 USD) for the base model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Sales commenced yesterday.

The new phone is powered by the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and an independent AI chip. It boasts a substantial 9070 mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The device measures 8.45mm in thickness and weighs 238 grams.

It features a 6.9-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2608x1200 pixels and a refresh rate of 185Hz. The camera system includes a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. Xiaomi's announcement indicates a robust consumer reception for its new flagship, potentially strengthening its market position in the competitive smartphone sector.
