Regula and Bernini.AI Integrate Identity Verification into AI Conversations
Regula and Bernini.AI are integrating document and biometric identity verification into AI-powered customer conversations. The solution aims to enhance security and verification throughout the customer journey.
Regula, a provider of identity verification solutions, and Bernini.AI, a developer of AI agents, have partnered to embed identity verification capabilities into AI-driven customer interactions. This integration allows Bernini.AI's DAFNE platform to leverage Regula's technology for verifying customer identities during conversations, from initial onboarding to high-risk transactions.
The joint solution is designed for regulated industries such as banking, insurance, and telecommunications, where robust identity checks are crucial. When a customer interacts with a DAFNE-powered AI agent, the platform can initiate document and biometric verification using Regula's Document Reader SDK and Face SDK. The verification result then informs the AI's subsequent actions based on the organization's business rules.
Regula's technology analyzes identity documents for authenticity and extracts data, while also cross-referencing information to detect potential fraud. The Face SDK performs facial recognition and liveness checks to confirm the identity of the person presenting the document.
"AI agents are becoming a new channel through which customers open accounts, access information, and request transactions. At the moments that matter, the organization needs reliable evidence of who is in the conversation," said Henry Patishman, Executive Vice President of Identity Verification Solutions at Regula. "Regula provides that evidence through document and biometric verification, while DAFNE determines when a check is required and how the workflow should continue. Together, we are bringing identity verification into AI-powered customer service across the customer lifecycle."
