Reju partners with six textile mills to scale recycled polyester production

Reju is expanding its industrial reach by partnering with six textile manufacturers to test and integrate its recycled polyester into commercial production. The collaboration involves A. Sampaio, RDD Textiles, Tintex Textiles, FOV Fabrics, Utenos, and US-based Swisstex Direct. These facilities provide specialized infrastructure for circular manufacturing, including knitting, dyeing, and finishing.

The partnership aims to bridge the gap between Reju’s future 'Regeneration Hubs' and the final consumer product. By collaborating with established mills, the company intends to convert its recycled raw materials into high-quality textiles that meet the specific performance requirements of global brands. According to CEO Patrik Frisk, these alliances are essential for transitioning from theoretical recycling models to practical, large-scale production.

This expansion follows a period of growth for Reju, which is owned by Technip Energies and utilizes technology developed by IBM Research. Recent milestones include receiving €135 million in Dutch government funding and selecting sites in Rochester, New York, and Lacq, France, for its upcoming recycling hubs.

The initiative reflects a broader industry move toward circularity, as firms look for ways to integrate recycled polymers without compromising fabric quality. By securing these processing partnerships now, Reju aims to ensure its supply chain is ready for industrial-scale deployment.
