Reply, a global group specializing in new business models enabled by artificial intelligence, has announced the jury for the second edition of its AI Film Festival. The competition aims to showcase and celebrate the best short films produced with AI.
The jury will be chaired by Italian director Gabriele Muccino, known for films like "The Pursuit of Happyness." He is joined by a panel of industry professionals including Caleb & Shelby Ward, Caroline Ingeborn, Charlie Fink, Denise Negri, Dave Clark, Filippo Rizzante, Guillem Martinez Roura, and Paolo Moroni. Their role is to evaluate shortlisted films based on creativity, production quality, and the application of AI.
The chosen theme for the 2025 edition is "Generation of Emotions," encouraging filmmakers to explore how artificial intelligence can evoke authentic feelings through cinematic language. Submissions are due by June 1, 2025.
Films will be assessed on their creativity, production quality, and how AI was integrated throughout the filmmaking process, from script to post-production. This year also introduces two new awards: the Lexus Visionary Award for innovation and the AI for Good Award, in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), for films highlighting UN Sustainable Development Goals.
