Reply Enhances Virgin Media O2's e-commerce Platform

IT services company Reply announced today its collaboration with Virgin Media O2 to enhance the company's e-commerce platform and online services. The partnership focused on UI design, engineering, and delivery management to streamline digital sales processes.

Reply's specialized squads worked with Virgin Media O2's digital team to develop new e-commerce and eCare functionalities. These features have been implemented on a new front-end platform, covering both existing O2 products and new versions of Virgin Media O2 offerings.

A key aspect of the project involved migrating away from legacy systems like Netcracker ERP. This was achieved through the implementation of a headless solution built on a microservices architecture, enabling greater agility and faster deployment of new features.

To validate the approach, Reply developed a Proof of Concept (POC) utilizing Angular, CMS, and Node.JS technologies. This demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed architecture and the speed at which new functionalities can be delivered.

Virgin Media O2 is a major UK telecommunications provider formed from the merger of Virgin Media and O2, aiming to deliver extensive connectivity services to millions of customers.
