Report: Honor's New Main Camera May Use OmniVision's OVB0D Sensor
Chinese tech publication IT Home reports that Honor's upcoming flagship smartphone is rumored to feature OmniVision's OVB0D sensor for its main camera. This 200-megapixel sensor is noted for its advanced HDR capabilities.

Reports suggest that Honor's upcoming flagship devices may utilize OmniVision's OVB0D camera sensor. According to information published by IT Home, the sensor is the largest currently available 200-megapixel 1/1.12-inch sensor and supports LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitors) technology.
OmniVision launched the OVB0D sensor in December of last year. It offers a 400,000 full-well capacity, a dynamic range of 108dB, and a second-generation DCG (Dual Conversion Gain) feature. The LOFIC technology enhances the sensor's ability to handle extreme HDR scenarios, allowing for the capture of more detailed images in high-contrast lighting conditions. This technology helps mitigate overexposure and improves detail retrieval in bright areas.
IT Home also noted that Honor is reportedly initiating preliminary research into the feasibility of using this sensor for next-generation telephoto cameras. While the OVB0D is designed for primary camera use, its advanced features could pave the way for new innovations in zoom lens technology.
