Report: Naughty Dog Developing New Uncharted Game

Gaming outlet mp1st reports that Naughty Dog is developing a new entry in the Uncharted series. The project is reportedly being helmed by Shaun Escayag, director of "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy."

1 October 2026

Gaming outlet mp1st has published a report indicating that Naughty Dog is working on a new game in the Uncharted franchise. The project is said to be under the direction of Shaun Escayag, who previously directed "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy."

Escayag has prior experience with the Uncharted series, having served as director for the standalone expansion "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" and previously contributing to "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." He also held the role of creative director for "Marvel's Avengers." The new title is described as a fresh installment rather than a remake of the original "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune."

According to the report, Nathan Drake, the series' iconic protagonist, is expected to appear in the new game in some capacity. The previous main installment, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," released in 2016, concluded with an older Nathan Drake and his daughter. Details regarding the plot of the new game and its connection to previous characters remain undisclosed.

"Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" was released in 2017, marking the first entry in the series not to feature Nathan Drake as the central protagonist, with Chloe Frazer taking the lead. Naughty Dog has not officially commented on the rumors surrounding a new Uncharted game.
