Report: Xiaomi 18 Pro Phones Use TLC Memory Chips
According to Chinese tech site IT Zhao, all phones in the Xiaomi 18 Pro series utilize TLC memory chips. No QLC variants are present in these devices.
Chinese technology portal IT Zhao has reported that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series of smartphones exclusively uses TLC (Triple-Level Cell) NAND flash memory chips. The series does not feature QLC (Quad-Level Cell) memory chips.
The information, attributed to a blogger, indicates that multiple suppliers are providing the memory components, including Chinese manufacturer Zhaoxin Technologies. These chips reportedly share the same manufacturing process and controllers as those from Yangtze Memory Technologies, and are being adopted by many major manufacturers for their flagship products.
Further details suggest that the standard Xiaomi 18 Pro models are equipped with memory chips from SK Hynix and Kioxia. However, the 512GB version of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max specifically uses a combination of SK Hynix and Zhaoxin Technologies, all confirmed to be TLC type.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro was launched on September 23. It features a new "MiaoXiang" rear display for dynamic notifications and apps. Other specifications include the latest Snapdragon 8-series processor, a 7000 mAh battery, and a full-focus Leica optical triple camera system. The device has a 6.4-inch screen with a peak brightness of 4000 nits.
