Helsinki – A new global report from media association FIPP and UPM Communication Papers reveals that printed magazine advertising generates greater trust and happiness than advertising on social media and through influencers. The study represents the most comprehensive research into print advertising conducted in more than five years.

The research, which surveyed consumers globally, explored perceptions of various advertising mediums. Findings suggest that ads featured in print publications are perceived as less intrusive and more credible compared to their digital counterparts. This may be attributed to the context in which ads are presented and the reader's intentional engagement with the magazine.

Data was collected from multiple countries, providing a detailed overview of consumer experiences with advertising. The report highlights the continued relevance and trustworthiness of print media, particularly amid ongoing discussions about the reliability and privacy concerns associated with digital platforms.

FIPP and UPM Communication Papers state that the report's findings offer robust evidence for the value of print advertising. The results aim to provide publishers and advertisers with clearer insights into how magazines can drive attention and commercial impact, even as digital marketing continues to expand.
