Capcom is reportedly slowing down the development of downloadable content (DLC) for its "Resident Evil" titles to prioritize new games and remakes within the franchise. This strategic shift means that planned long-form DLC for "Resident Evil Village" and "Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake" could be significantly delayed.
The DLC for "Resident Evil Village," originally anticipated for release in late 2026, may now be pushed back to December 2027. This would result in a nearly two-year wait for players after the game's initial launch. Capcom is said to be dedicating more resources to crafting expansive content, akin to previous substantial DLCs for the series.
Furthermore, the DLC for the upcoming "Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake" could also face a delay, potentially not releasing until 2028. While the remake itself is expected next year, its accompanying content will likely follow later as the studio concentrates on building its larger projects.
