Reson8 Founder Thomas Kluiters Aims to Build European AI Giant
Following the sale of his health tech company, Thomas Kluiters is now focusing on his AI venture, Reson8. He aims to establish Europe as a significant player in the artificial intelligence sector.

Thomas Kluiters, founder of Reson8, has embarked on a new career phase focusing on artificial intelligence after successfully selling his previous health tech company to Tandem Health. Kluiters has expressed a strong ambition to position Europe as a major force in the AI sector, stating in an interview, "I'm 30. I've got one more shot at building a European AI giant."
Reson8 is developing AI-powered solutions that leverage voice and language technology, aiming to create novel user experiences. The company has already secured significant funding, including a €1.5 million seed round with investors such as Balderton Capital and LocalGlobe. The goal is to develop technology capable of generating natural and nuanced speech.
Kluiters has been critical of the often conservative growth ambitions of European startup founders, encouraging them to think bigger. He contrasts the scale and potential of the US market with European aspirations, noting Europe's capacity for global scaling.
The company operates in a competitive landscape that includes established players like ElevenLabs, which has also attracted substantial investment. Reson8's strategy hinges on technological advancement and creating a competitive edge through deep AI expertise, with Kluiters emphasizing Europe's potential for global competition.
