ARLINGTON, Va. – The Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA), an organization supporting retired NFL players, announced a new strategic partnership with Samaritas, a Michigan-based nonprofit providing services in foster care, adoption, and other family and community programs.

The partnership's first initiative is "The Gridiron Bowl," an esports tournament scheduled for August 21, 2026. The event will pair retired NFL players with youth from Samaritas' foster care and adoption services for a collaborative gaming experience aimed at fostering connection and mentorship.

Organized through PFRPA's Gridiron Gaming program, the tournament is intended to engage former players and fans. Proceeds from the event will benefit Samaritas' programs and the PFRPA Greater Good Fund, which supports retired players and their families.

PFRPA focuses on preserving the legacy of retired NFL players through new revenue streams and by developing health, welfare, and educational programs. Samaritas has provided support for individuals and families in Michigan for over 90 years.
