reventix Phone expands to macOS and Linux
Berlin-based reventix GmbH has launched its reventix Phone softphone for macOS and Linux. The expansion aims to serve businesses operating on diverse IT environments.

Berlin-based cloud telephony provider reventix GmbH has expanded the availability of its reventix Phone softphone. New versions for macOS and Linux were released on February 24, 2026, bringing the software's features to a wider user base alongside its existing Windows version.
The reventix Phone allows users to initiate calls directly from the application using a click-to-call function and to transfer calls via drag-and-drop. The software supports flexible contact management from various sources and integrates with CRM systems through interfaces, enabling users to make calls directly from their CRM and view call data within the system.
Key functionalities include support for TAPI on Windows and TSP for Windows Terminal Server, while Linux and macOS versions utilize uaCSTA and Action URLs (via HTTP/S). The softphone is designed for ease of use with features such as mouse gestures, keyboard shortcuts, a presence indicator, and support for USB headsets, making it suitable for deployment across various business departments.
Bastian Schern, CEO of reventix, stated that the explicit support for macOS and Linux is intended to offer customers greater freedom in choosing their work environment and to provide increased flexibility for teams operating on different systems. The company aims to ensure stable telephony solutions regardless of the user's platform.
The expansion comes as alternative operating systems like Linux are seeing increased adoption, partly due to the end of support for Windows 10 and stricter hardware requirements for Windows 11. In Europe, particularly Germany, there is a growing trend among companies to adopt "Made in Germany" solutions and open-source software to reduce reliance on US providers and gain more control over their IT infrastructure and data processing, aligning with digital sovereignty goals.
