Revolut customers affected by fresh security breach

Revolut customers have been impacted by a new security incident after the broker the fintech firm uses for trading U.S. stocks experienced a breach. Emails reviewed by Sifted indicate that customer information may have been compromised.
The incident reportedly occurred in early September 2023. The U.S. stockbroker, which has not been publicly named, is said to have suffered a security lapse that led to the leak of a list containing details for "around 400 individuals." Information that could have been exposed includes names, email addresses, and dates of birth.
This marks another security event for Revolut this year. In 2022, the company was targeted in a large-scale phishing attack that affected tens of thousands of customers. While this latest incident appears to be smaller in scale, it could still pose a risk to the affected users.
A spokesperson for Revolut stated that the security incident has not resulted in any unauthorized activity on customer accounts. The company has reportedly implemented measures to enhance security and prevent future breaches.
