The Reykjavík Family Park and Zoo reported a substantial increase in visitor numbers over the summer of 2026. The park welcomed close to 99,000 visitors during June, July, and August, compared to nearly 79,000 during the same period last year. The facility cited reduced annual pass prices and a varied event schedule as key factors contributing to the attendance surge.

Throughout the summer, the park hosted a range of activities. The "Tívolí Tónleikar" concert series featured performances by both established musicians and young talent from Reykjavík's school bands. A travelling puppet theatre and visits from car clubs also drew crowds.

Reykjavík's "School of Work" program provided young musicians and performers with an opportunity to practice and showcase their talents at the park. This initiative, involving participants from school bands, was described as a success, offering valuable experience.

The park has announced further events for the autumn. In observance of Icelandic Nature Day on September 16, visitors can experience a virtual reality tour of a puffin colony. On September 27, as part of the European Week of Sport, the park will host activities including yoga and a hobby horse course. Preparations are also underway for Halloween and Christmas programming.
