Reykjavik is offering a broad selection of summer activities for children and adolescents for 2024, aiming to provide diverse entertainment and educational opportunities. Available programs include summer camps, specialized courses in sailing and animal care, and various events hosted at local youth centers.

Registration is set to begin on April 23, with different time slots for various activities. After-school programs and youth center activities open at 10 a.m., followed by sailing courses at noon and animal courses at 2 p.m. Later, on May 2, registration will open for workshops at youth centers.

The city's Service Center is available to assist with registration queries via phone. Parents are advised to register early due to limited capacity, and specific deadlines apply for children to commence activities at the beginning of the following week. The "School of Work" program is available for students in grades 8 through 10.

Priority is given to residents of Reykjavik. Children of foreign origin residing in Reykjavik may be eligible for up to three weeks of free summer activities if they have lived in Iceland for less than a year. This exemption does not apply to children visiting Iceland temporarily during the summer.
