Rheinmetall and Croatia Form Joint Venture for Defense Technology
German company Rheinmetall and Croatian firm DOK-ING have established Rheinmetall Unmanned Vehicles d.o.o., a joint venture focused on unmanned defense systems. This initiative marks the beginning of a strategic industrial partnership with Croatia.
German defense technology firm Rheinmetall AG has established a joint venture with Croatian company DOK-ING. The new entity, Rheinmetall Unmanned Vehicles d.o.o., signifies the commencement of a long-term strategic industrial partnership between Rheinmetall and the Republic of Croatia.
The initiative aims to position Croatia as a key European hub for the development, production, and export of advanced unmanned systems and other defense technologies. This endeavor is expected to open new opportunities for the domestic industry, research, and development sectors.
During the inauguration ceremony, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković highlighted the significance of the collaboration. Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger stated that Croatia possesses the necessary expertise and industrial tradition to become a production and development site for advanced defense solutions.
Rheinmetall Unmanned Vehicles will combine DOK-ING's over three decades of experience in unmanned systems with Rheinmetall's global development, manufacturing, and market expertise. The company will focus on developing next-generation unmanned and autonomous ground platforms for military and security applications.
