Rheinmetall awarded contract for modular camp in Lithuania
Rheinmetall has received its first order to construct a modular camp in Lithuania under a German Armed Forces program. The construction value is €250 million.

German defense contractor Rheinmetall has secured its first order for the construction of a modular camp in Lithuania. The contract, valued at €250 million for construction, falls under the German Armed Forces Contractor Augmentation Program II – Static Accommodation (G-CAP II SU).
The facility will accommodate up to 2,000 soldiers and is scheduled for completion by mid-August 2027. In addition to the construction cost, the subsequent operation of the camp is valued at €40 million annually. Rheinmetall will also be responsible for facility management, including laundry and catering services.
The G-CAP II SU program aims to provide static accommodation for German troops during deployments and standby commitments, utilizing standardized, modular infrastructure to expedite the entire process from manufacturing to operation and dismantling.
This initiative allows the German Armed Forces to conserve its own resources for high-threat situations. Rheinmetall has global experience in planning, manufacturing, and operating such camps.
