Rheinmetall Displays Kraken K3 Scout Unmanned Surface Vessel at Eurosatory

German technology group Rheinmetall is exhibiting its Kraken K3 Scout unmanned surface vessel (USV) at the Eurosatory 2026 defense and security trade fair in Paris. The vessel is a joint development with UK-based Kraken Technology Group.

About the Kraken K3 Scout The Kraken K3 Scout measures approximately 8.5 meters in length and has a payload capacity of 600 kilograms. Depending on its configuration, it can be used for maritime surveillance, protection of critical infrastructure, or as a weapons platform for military operations. It can reach speeds of up to 55 knots.

Meeting Demand Rheinmetall states the vessel addresses a growing global demand for commercially available unmanned platforms for both military and civilian applications. A joint venture, "Rheinmetall Kraken GmbH", was established last year between Rheinmetall Naval Systems and Kraken Technology Group to supply market-ready unmanned platforms.

Production Underway Series production of the Kraken K3 Scout commenced in April at Rheinmetall's Blohm+Voss shipyard in Hamburg. Rheinmetall is developing the shipyard into Germany's leading test and technology centre for unmanned and autonomous maritime systems. Rheinmetall can be found at the exhibition in Hall F, Stand F115/F116.
