Rheinmetall presents multi-domain operations concept at AFCEA 2026

German technology company Rheinmetall will present its approach to multi-domain military operations at the AFCEA 2026 trade fair in Bonn, taking place on May 12-13, 2026.

The company's software-defined Battlesuite aims to integrate and orchestrate information from various military domains, including land, air, space, sea, and cyber and information environments. Rheinmetall states this approach is designed to provide a comprehensive situational awareness for faster threat response.

Rheinmetall emphasizes its strategy focuses on openness and interoperability, seeking to integrate systems from different partners and hardware manufacturers without proprietary lock-ins. The company likens the Battlesuite to a military-grade operating system, enabling the networked operation of diverse applications and hardware platforms.

At the fair, Rheinmetall plans to demonstrate how data from space-based sensors is integrated via its 'Tactical Core' middleware to effectors on land, at sea, or in the air. The company highlights that this architecture allows for the integration of new capabilities, such as AI-enabled functions, without requiring the recertification of the entire infrastructure.
