Rheinmetall Supports Ukraine With Ammunition and Vehicles

German defense and technology company Rheinmetall has been a key industrial partner to Ukraine since the outset, providing substantial support in its defense against Russian aggression. The company's deliveries include large and medium-caliber ammunition, sophisticated air defense systems, and combat vehicles.

Rheinmetall has supplied hundreds of thousands of 155mm artillery rounds, with production also taking place at the company's new plant in Germany. Additionally, Ukraine has received hundreds of thousands of 35mm rounds for Gepard anti-aircraft vehicles, along with 120mm tank ammunition and mortar rounds. The total number of ammunition rounds delivered across all calibers has reached several million since the full-scale Russian invasion.

In terms of combat vehicles, Rheinmetall has provided Ukraine with a three-digit number of Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles and modern Lynx vehicles. Leopard 1A5 and Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks have been delivered in multiple batches, with supplies supplemented by maintenance contracts and circular exchange programs involving European partner nations.

The company has also strengthened its presence in Ukraine by establishing a joint venture, Rheinmetall Ukrainian Defense Industry LLC, which began operations in October 2023. Under this venture, combat vehicles have been repaired and maintained in western Ukraine since June 2024. Rheinmetall also provides the country with strategically important satellite-based intelligence and mobile medical facilities.

Rheinmetall's support also extends to advanced air defense systems, including medium-caliber ammunition for its Skynex and Skyranger systems.
