Rheinmetall to digitize British Army combat training in near €1 billion deal

German technology group Rheinmetall has been awarded a significant contract to digitize the combat training capabilities of the British Army. The deal, valued at close to €1 billion, positions Rheinmetall Electronics UK as a key partner within the Omnia Training consortium, responsible for delivering the Army Collective Training System (ACTS).

Led by Raytheon UK, an RTX company, the Omnia Training consortium brings together several leading industry partners to provide advanced collective training solutions for the British Army. Rheinmetall's share of this contract is valued at nearly €1 billion, with the service agreement set to run for 15 years, commencing in summer 2026.

The consortium will focus on the integration and delivery of modern live, virtual, and constructive simulation systems. Rheinmetall, acting as the "Land Collective Training Partner," will support the provision of these capabilities, overseeing the physical training infrastructure, system configurations, and logistical aspects necessary for the army's collective training.

The substantial project volume and scope are expected to significantly bolster Rheinmetall's local facilities, workforce, and industrial supply capabilities within the United Kingdom. The contract is anticipated to secure and create numerous skilled jobs across Rheinmetall's sites on the Isle of Wight, in Southampton, and at strategic locations such as Bristol and Warminster.

Great Britain represents a core strategic market for Rheinmetall in Europe, where the company maintains a strong presence through its subsidiaries and joint ventures. This new contract further solidifies its position and its contribution to the UK's defense modernization efforts and local value creation.
