Rheinmetall to Supply Bundeswehr with 568 Logistics Vehicles
Rheinmetall has secured a contract from the Bundeswehr for 568 logistics vehicles. The order is valued at over €330 million, with deliveries scheduled for 2025 and 2026.

German defense contractor Rheinmetall will supply the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) with 568 logistics vehicles. The total order value exceeds €330 million, with deliveries planned for 2025 and 2026.
The order includes 349 unprotected transport vehicles (UTF) in 5-tonne and 15-tonne variants, along with 219 trucks equipped with a swap-body system, 121 of which will feature a protected cab. Deliveries of the UTF vehicles are slated for 2026, while the swap-body trucks are expected to be delivered by November 2025. The orders were booked in the fourth quarter of 2024 after the German Parliament's budget committee approved the necessary funds in December 2024.
These recent orders are part of a framework agreement signed in July 2024, which represented the largest order for logistics vehicles in the company's history. The agreement allows for the delivery of up to 6,500 trucks worth up to €3.5 billion over a seven-year period. The framework also enables the Bundeswehr to flexibly order additional quantities, including the new 3.5-tonne 4x4 UTF model.
Rheinmetall delivered a record 2,015 logistics vehicles to the Bundeswehr in 2024. Since 2017, over 6,000 vehicles from the HX family, including swap-body systems and heavy-duty semi-trailer units, have been supplied to the German armed forces. The company notes that over 75% of the added value for the swap-body and UTF systems is generated in Germany. The HX vehicle family's widespread use in multiple countries enhances interoperability and logistical efficiency in multinational operations.
