Rheinmetall has been awarded a contract by the British Armed Forces to supply the main weapon systems for its fleet of RCH 155 wheeled howitzers. The agreement, valued in the low hundreds of millions of euros, follows the United Kingdom's May 2026 order for 72 of the artillery systems.

The project involves the supply of 72 elevating masses and accompanying on-board tools. Manufacturing will take place at Rheinmetall’s new facility in Telford, UK, which is currently scaling up its operations. Deliveries are set to commence in May 2028, with completion expected by June 2031. The scope also includes technical support and the development of training materials.

The RCH 155 utilizes the drive module of the Boxer wheeled armored vehicle paired with an automated, remote-controlled turret system based on the Panzerhaubitze 2000. This configuration allows for artillery fire while the vehicle is in motion, providing increased tactical mobility.

This contract reinforces Rheinmetall's role as a major system house for artillery technology. The company continues to ramp up production capacity across its divisions to meet rising demand from European militaries.
