Rheinmetall Unveils New Laser Light Module for Handguns
Rheinmetall is introducing the PTAL (Pistol Tactical Aiming Laser), a new module for handguns, at the Enforce Tac exhibition. The compact and lightweight device features infrared and white light illumination and a selectable red or green aiming laser.

German defense contractor Rheinmetall has unveiled its new PTAL (Pistol Tactical Aiming Laser) module designed for handguns. Developed by Rheinmetall Soldier Electronics in Stockach, the module is characterized by its compact and lightweight construction, weighing just 115 grams with dimensions of 76 x 45 x 30 mm.
The device integrates an infrared illuminator for close-range target acquisition in low-light conditions, alongside a white light function for general use. It also includes an IR aiming laser and a visible aiming laser, which can be selected as either red or green. The laser output is controlled and regulated, reaching up to laser class 3B.
Designed for practical application, the PTAL module can be attached to various handguns and is designed to be compatible with multiple holster types. It is powered by a single CR123 battery, easily replaceable via the lamp head, and notably, it is not subject to strict U.S. ITAR export regulations.
The module also features an interface for an eye-safe training mode, facilitating force-on-force training simulations. Rheinmetall displayed the PTAL alongside other laser and laser light modules and showcased the Fuchs JAGM next-generation armored missile tank destroyer at the Enforce Tac exhibition.
