RicheyWeb Overhauls Joomla Extension Strategy for 2025
Web development company RicheyWeb has announced significant changes to its Joomla extension strategy starting in 2025. Many existing extensions will be discontinued.

Web development firm RicheyWeb has announced a major shift in its Joomla extension strategy for 2025. The company will cease support and development for several of its current extensions, particularly those whose functionality has been incorporated into the core of Joomla 4 and 5.
Many extensions previously offered in Free/Pro versions will no longer receive updates or support. RicheyWeb cites the integration of previously custom functionalities into Joomla's core system as the reason. While these older extensions will remain available for download on the company's website, users will operate them at their own risk.
Starting in 2025, all RicheyWeb extensions will transition to a free model. The company is returning to its original approach, using free extensions as a showcase for custom software development services. Instead of paid Pro versions, RicheyWeb is requesting users to provide a do-follow backlink to their website as a form of support.
The company plans to release new extensions and update existing ones for Joomla 5 throughout 2025. Future releases will focus on utility extensions, content plugins, and SEO automation solutions. RicheyWeb's founder indicated this strategic change will allow for a greater focus on delivering custom software development projects.
