Ricoh has introduced a new limited edition model, the GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition, to commemorate three decades of its GR series of high-end compact digital cameras. The company will produce only 6,000 units worldwide for this special edition, which is scheduled for release in the fall.

The anniversary model is based on the standard GR IV, set to launch in September 2025, and shares identical shooting performance. The main distinctions lie in the camera's exterior details. Notably, the shutter button and rear control buttons feature a unique color scheme inspired by the original GR1 model. The camera comes with a specially designed lens hood, the "GN-3 (30th)", which has undergone a diamond-cutting process. Additionally, a custom anniversary graphic will be displayed on the screen when the camera is turned off.

Beyond the camera body, the anniversary edition includes several exclusive accessories. These comprise a metal hot shoe cover, the "GK-2 (30th)", and a finger strap, the "GS-4 (30th)", both featuring the GR 30th Anniversary design. A set of special badges, inspired by various GR series models throughout history, is also part of the package. Ricoh has indicated that both the metal hot shoe cover and the finger strap are planned for separate limited release at a later date. For existing GR III and GR IIIx users, a compatible 30th-anniversary metal hot shoe cover, the "GK-1 (30th)", will also be available.

Ricoh plans to disclose further sales information and pricing details closer to the launch date. As part of the broader "Forever a Snapshooter" 30th-anniversary celebration for the GR series, the company will also organize a series of fan events globally during the fall.
