Rikshem secures SEK 1.1 billion EIB loan for sustainable property development
Swedish real estate firm Rikshem has entered into a 10-year, SEK 1.1 billion loan agreement with the European Investment Bank to fund energy-efficient residential and public property projects.

Rikshem has finalized a 10-year unsecured loan agreement worth SEK 1.1 billion with the European Investment Bank (EIB). The capital is earmarked for the construction and modernization of properties that meet specific energy performance standards.
The financing will support six development projects located in municipalities including Lund, Nacka, and Uppsala. The initiative encompasses both the construction of new rental apartment buildings and the renovation of existing facilities intended for public health and social service use.
For Rikshem, the loan serves to diversify its financing structure while supporting its ongoing environmental sustainability objectives. The European Investment Bank continues to provide credit to European firms focused on increasing the energy efficiency of the urban building stock.
