Ringmetall acquires Rapak from TriMas to enter North American market
German packaging specialist Ringmetall SE has purchased Rapak, LLC from TriMas Corporation, securing the fourth-largest position in the global bag-in-box market.
Ringmetall SE has acquired Rapak, LLC, a subsidiary of TriMas Corporation. The transaction marks Ringmetall's entry into the North American bag-in-box packaging market, positioning the firm as the fourth-largest manufacturer in this segment globally.
Rapak operates facilities in Woodridge, Illinois, and Indianapolis, Indiana, specializing in flexible packaging and filling systems for food, beverage, and industrial liquids. TriMas, which acquired Rapak in 2020, has operated the entity under its TriMas Packaging group.
TriMas CEO Thomas Snyder stated that the divestiture aligns with the company’s objective to streamline its portfolio and concentrate resources on high-growth segments. Woodward Park Partners served as the financial advisor to TriMas during the divestment process.
