German manufacturer Ritex announced that its BIO Gleitgel lubricant has received certification from the Vegan Society, allowing it to use the vegan flower symbol. The product has been in Ritex's range since 2014.
Bielefeld, Germany – Ritex, a German manufacturer of condoms and lubricants, announced in February 2015 that its BIO Gleitgel product has been certified by the Vegan Society. This certification grants the company the right to use the vegan flower logo on its product.
The BIO Gleitgel has been part of Ritex's product line since 2014. The certification confirms that no animal products or by-products are used at any stage of the manufacturing process. The Vegan Society conducts annual audits to ensure compliance with its stringent criteria.
Ritex stated that the BIO Gleitgel is made from natural, high-quality raw materials in Germany. It is also free from fragrances, colorants, PEG, parabens, and other preservatives. The company noted that the vegan lubricant has become one of its most popular products, reflecting a growing consumer interest in vegan lifestyles.
According to estimates from January 2015, there were approximately 900,000 vegans living in Germany, a number projected to increase. Ritex Managing Director Robert Richter described the certification as a logical step to assure consumers that the product is suitable for a vegan lifestyle. Ritex emphasizes its commitment to producing its goods in Germany using modern technology.
