Rittal Integrates Racks, Cooling, and 800V Power for AI Data Centers
Rittal is presenting a new, scalable infrastructure solution for AI and HPC applications at the OCP Global Summit. The system integrates racks, direct liquid cooling, and an 800-volt DC power supply.
Rittal will showcase a new architecture at the OCP Global Summit 2026 in San José, integrating racks, direct liquid cooling, and an 800-volt DC power supply into a compact, scalable system for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.
The core innovation lies in the close mechanical and functional integration of cooling, rack, and power supply. This enables megawatt-level computing power to be standardized and housed within a few square meters, reducing energy losses, improving scalability, and simplifying maintenance. For the 800-volt power supply, Rittal is utilizing power electronics from Bosch, adapted from their electric vehicle technology for data center continuous operation.
The solution, based on Rittal's RiMatrix HPC, features a compact infrastructure pod integrating high-performance racks, direct chip cooling via water, and adjacent power distribution. A central Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) provides over a megawatt of cooling capacity and is designed for modular replacement during operation. This creates a scalable unit aligned with OCP specifications.
As a long-standing member of the Open Compute Project, Rittal aims to address the increasing demands for performance and energy efficiency in data centers. By combining its system expertise with technology partners like Bosch, Rittal offers a standardized and reproducible infrastructure for future AI workloads.
