Rittal, a German manufacturer of enclosure and cabinet systems, has launched its new RiPanel online configurator. The tool is designed to streamline and simplify the process for customers to design custom-tailored enclosures.
The configurator guides users through four main stages: selecting the enclosure housing, adding necessary accessories, designing holes and cut-outs, and finally generating data for order placement. Each step incorporates automatic checks to minimize errors and ensure component compatibility.
Users begin by specifying enclosure type, material, dimensions, doors, and IP protection rating. The system then suggests suitable accessories, such as hinges, locking systems, and interior fittings. Users can also integrate specific cut-outs and drilling patterns directly into the 3D model.
Rittal aims to reduce common errors and time-consuming aspects of the design process. The digital twin modeling allows for visualization of the final product and ensures correct component placement. An automatically updated parts list and total cost are generated upon completion.
