Rittal launches Wire Station 540 for electrical panel assembly

The Wire Station 540 aims to address the labor-intensive nature of manual wiring, which remains a primary bottleneck in control cabinet manufacturing. While automated systems like the Rittal Wire Terminal handle high-volume cable processing, complex tasks such as installing larger cross-section cables and finalizing connector assemblies often require manual intervention.

The new workstation features an adjustable-height bench designed for ergonomics and modularity. Users can integrate various accessories, including LED lighting, power outlets, monitor mounts, and specialized storage for wire coils and hand tools. The unit is also compatible with existing semi-automatic cutting and crimping machinery, allowing shops to customize the workspace to specific assembly requirements.

Designed for mobility, the station is mounted on casters, enabling technicians to move their workspace directly to the electrical panel. By acting as an interface between automated production systems and manual site installation, the Wire Station 540 intends to reduce the time spent moving between workstations and assembly points. It also functions as a hardware hub for EPLAN Smart Wiring software, providing a digital interface for complex assembly tasks.
