Rittal Standardizes Outdoor and Free-Cooling Features in Blue e+ Chillers

September 9, 2024

Rittal has upgraded its Blue e+ series of liquid chillers by integrating features for outdoor use and free-cooling as standard. These functionalities were previously available as optional add-on modules.

The updated product line aims to provide enhanced efficiency and energy savings for industrial cooling needs. The Outdoor module, which offers protection against environmental factors with a UV-resistant coating and IP54 rating, is now incorporated. The Free-Cooling option, designed to reduce energy consumption by utilizing ambient air in cooler conditions, can lower energy usage by up to 90%, is also a standard feature.

Blue e+ chillers are recognized for their energy efficiency, achieved through DC inverter technology and Microchannel heat exchangers. Rittal states that the Microchannel technology can reduce the amount of refrigerant needed by up to 55%.

The units are designed with user safety and ease of operation in mind, featuring integrated protections such as a flow monitor, fill level control, and overflow valves. The interface supports 21 languages and integrates digital Industry 4.0 capabilities, including IoT interfaces and diagnostic software like Rittal Scan & Service and RiDiag III.
