Riverbend Construction Services Selects Metso Mobile Crushing, Screening Equipment
Riverbend Construction Services has chosen Metso's mobile Lokotrack crushing units to address production challenges at three North Carolina quarry sites. The decision was driven by equipment flexibility and Metso's support.

Metso Oyj has supplied mobile crushing and screening equipment to Riverbend Construction Services, which operates at three distinct quarry locations in North Carolina. The company required a solution that would enable peak production without the space typically occupied by stationary equipment.
Duff Boyd, owner of Riverbend, stated that the company's scope involved drilling, blasting, and crushing hard granite at each site. The mobile Lokotrack units allow Riverbend to build inventory at each location, dismantle the production setup, and relocate to the next site. This facilitates efficient operations under tight production schedules and limited space.
Key factors in the decision included the production capacity and reliability of Metso's equipment, but the support offered by Metso was equally critical. Boyd emphasized that even the best equipment is ineffective without adequate support. The collaboration between local dealer Stowers and Metso was identified as meeting this requirement.
Utilizing Metso's Bruno simulation software early in the process assisted Riverbend in determining the optimal equipment configuration and resolving potential production challenges prior to equipment acquisition. The accuracy of the software and Metso's understanding of its equipment's performance were noted.
