Ro and Novo Collaborate on Real-World Evidence for Wegovy Pill

Digital health company Ro and Novo Nordisk have entered a research collaboration aimed at generating real-world evidence for the Wegovy pill. The initial study, presented on September 30 at the EASD2026 conference in Milan, Italy, examined patient outcomes among those who switched to the Wegovy pill via Ro's platform from an injectable GLP-1 medication.
Ro, a significant provider of GLP-1 medications in the U.S., has been a key partner in Novo Nordisk's direct-to-patient expansion since April 2025. The company launched the Wegovy pill nationwide on its platform from its market availability. This research collaboration builds on that relationship and underscores a shared commitment to expanding access to FDA-approved treatments and enhancing the patient experience through real-world data.
Zach Reitano, Co-founder and CEO of Ro, stated that the collaboration is expanding from access to insights. "Real-world research like this helps us better understand patients' experiences, goals, and treatment journeys—and turn those insights into AI-enabled tools that support providers in delivering more personalized, high-quality, and more affordable care at scale," Reitano said.
The study, presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Annual Meeting, focused on patients with overweight or obesity who transitioned to three months of the Wegovy pill treatment on Ro's platform. Additional research findings, including insights on patient demographics, weight loss, and quality of life, are scheduled for presentation at ObesityWeek 2026 in November.
