Roaming Road Spirits Adds American Whiskeys to Single Barrel Program

Roaming Road Spirits, an independent bottler known for sourcing unique, premium barrel-aged spirits, has expanded its domestic single barrel program to include American whiskeys, including bourbon and rye. The expansion is a direct response to increased demand from consumers and industry professionals.

The company, which launched in 2024 with a focus on international spirits like rum, Armagnac, Cognac, and Irish whiskey, is now prioritizing its U.S. offerings. Founder Mike Gilmore, who has over two decades of experience with American whiskeys, has cultivated a significant inventory of barrels.

While American whiskeys were not part of Roaming Road's initial launch strategy, requests from fellow retailers and industry contacts prompted the company to offer barrel selection opportunities within the United States. Gilmore will work with clients to identify barrels that match their preferences, such as mash bill and flavor profile.

Specialty retailers, restaurants, hotels, and private clients can now select exclusive barrels from Gilmore's existing inventory. This includes potential offerings of Kentucky bourbon and rye from various sources. Roaming Road provides a consultative approach to the selection process.

Customers can opt to receive samples for evaluation or participate in a hands-on barrel selection experience at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky. Once selected, cases can be shipped directly to purchasers where legally permitted or distributed through traditional three-tier channels for licensed businesses.
