Roblox Failing to Block Adults from Children, Australian Regulator Says
Australia's eSafety Commissioner has identified significant gaps in Roblox's child safety measures, despite previous efforts to improve protections. Adults are reportedly still able to access children on the platform.

Roblox has failed to prevent adults from exploiting its platform to access children, despite the company making changes last fall. Australia's eSafety Commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, stated on Thursday that alarming gaps persist in the platform's safety measures.
The investigation found that adult strangers can still send connection requests to children. Furthermore, children's profile information, including usernames, connection lists, and avatar images, was visible to anyone on the platform without the option to restrict visibility. These requests also did not trigger parental alerts.
The agency noted that malicious actors can search children's publicly visible contact lists for additional targets. eSafety suspects Roblox is not doing enough to address child exploitation issues.
Roblox previously implemented changes to block adults from messaging unknown children. The latest findings suggest these measures have been insufficient in preventing all forms of exploitation on the platform.
