Roborock Saros 20 Robot Vacuum Navigates Door Thresholds and Uneven Floors

Roborock has released its Saros 20 robot vacuum, aiming to address a common household issue: the inability of automated cleaners to navigate door thresholds and differing floor heights. The unit's AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 technology automatically adjusts its ground clearance, allowing for smoother transitions across various home floor types.

Many homes feature mixed flooring materials and heights, such as tile, hardwood, and rugs, which pose challenges for standard robot vacuums. These devices can become stuck at transitions or interrupt their cleaning cycles. The Saros 20 aims to minimize these disruptions by offering an enhanced ability to ascend obstacles up to a few millimeters high.

The technology also reportedly improves the vacuum's navigation on uneven surfaces, including minor subfloor irregularities in older properties or rug edges. Additional features include 36,000 Pa HyperForce suction and a dual anti-tangle design for the brush rolls.

Roborock states that such adaptive solutions are significant, as research indicates that surface variation directly impacts cleaning outcomes. Systems that avoid frequent stops or rerouting provide more comprehensive cleaning coverage.
