Robotics Component Supplier Amicro Targets Hong Kong IPO

Amicro, a designer of chips and algorithms for intelligent mobile robots, is preparing for a public listing in Hong Kong with trading expected to commence on November 12. Founded in 2014, the Zhuhai-based company has established a foothold in the consumer robotics market by providing navigation, motion control, and mapping technology for robot vacuum manufacturers, including companies like Xiaomi, iRobot, and Ecovacs.

While the company reported 2025 revenues of approximately RMB 407 million, it also recorded a net loss of RMB 155 million during the same period. This financial performance reflects heavy investment in research and development, which remains a primary focus as the company attempts to adapt its core navigation systems for broader industrial and service robotics applications.

Amicro’s business model involves supplying system-on-chip components and software development kits that allow manufacturers to integrate complex features like visual perception and sensor fusion. By positioning itself as a specialist supplier rather than a consumer brand, the company has integrated its technology into products sold across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

The upcoming IPO comes as Amicro seeks to diversify its market reach. Having built its expertise in the navigation challenges of home environments, the company is now attempting to transition into more complex robotics environments, requiring continued capital expenditure to advance its hardware and software capabilities.
