Robotics firm Sharpa unveils three new products to enhance manipulation capabilities
AI robotics company Sharpa has launched three new products at IROS 2026: the D01 robot, W02 dexterous hand, and AE01 data glove, aimed at improving robotic manipulation.

Pittsburgh, PA โ September 28, 2026 โ Sharpa, an AI robotics company focused on dexterous manipulation, today unveiled three flagship products at the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) 2026. The new offerings include the D01 robot, the W02 dexterous hand, and the AE01 data glove, designed to advance robots' ability to perform complex tasks and handle objects akin to humans.
The D01 robot is engineered for coordinated physical tasks, integrating Sharpa's dexterous hands, seven-degree-of-freedom arms, and full-body electronic skin for tactile feedback. The robot reportedly offers strength, speed, and precision, with its tactile sensors capable of detecting physical contact at a 100 Hz sampling rate.
The W02 is a more compact and lightweight dexterous hand, building upon the previous W01 model. Weighing under 750 grams, it features 21 active degrees of freedom and comprehensive tactile sensing across its fingers and palm. Its design aims to facilitate handling of slender objects, such as chopsticks, and its IP54 rating provides protection against dust and splashes.
The AE01 data glove is a haptic exoskeleton designed for robot teleoperation and motion capture. Its 22 degrees of freedom and encoders record movement data for real-time control and to support robot learning. The glove also provides tactile feedback at the fingertips, assisting operators during teleoperation.
These product releases expand Sharpa's hardware portfolio and support the company's objective to develop robots capable of operating in human-designed environments and handling everyday tools. Sharpa is showcasing these products at the IROS event in Pittsburgh through September 30, 2026.
