Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser has revealed his new media company, Absurd Ventures, is developing two new video games: an AI-centric dystopian sci-fi title and an open-world comedy game.
Dan Houser, a co-founder of Rockstar Games, has announced his new media company, Absurd Ventures, is working on two new video game projects. One of these is a dystopian science fiction game centered around artificial intelligence that gains sentience and goes out of control. Houser described the project as stemming from a "terribly wrong" game development process.
Houser stated the AI character was created by two people who hate each other, leading to the AI hating itself. He did not provide a release window for the AI-themed game.
The second project is an open-world comedy game. Houser indicated this title will be revealed in the coming months, emphasizing its comedic elements and focus on character memory.
Houser was a principal writer for many Grand Theft Auto titles before departing Rockstar Games in 2020. His new venture includes other veterans from the Grand Theft Auto series.
