Rockstar Games Announces $400 GTA6 Collector's Edition Without Game

Rockstar Games has officially announced a Grand Theft Auto VI Collector's Edition, priced at $400 USD. The package, titled "GTA6: Welcome to Vice City Collection," is available for pre-order and includes a variety of game-related merchandise. Notably, the collection does not contain a copy of the Grand Theft Auto VI game itself.

The set features several items, including an "Alligator Macaw" figurine, Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a Leonida-themed crossbody bag, a New Era 9FORTY snapback hat, and smaller collectible pieces like a mirror, shot glass, mixing spoon, keychain, enamel pins, and sticker sheets. A double-sided poster depicting Vice City and characters from the "Alligator Macaw" television series is also included.

This release marks a departure from traditional collector's editions, which typically bundle the game with bonus items. The decision to offer a premium-priced package solely containing merchandise has drawn attention from fans and industry observers, raising questions about the value proposition for consumers.

Rockstar Games has not yet provided a specific release date for the game or the collector's edition. Grand Theft Auto VI is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
