Rodan Energy Expands Position in PJM Electricity Market Amid Record Prices

Rodan Energy Solutions has significantly expanded its position in PJM, North America's largest electricity market, which serves 13 states and the District of Columbia. This strategic growth occurs as the market grapples with record energy costs.

PJM's most recent annual auction set the price of committed power at the maximum allowed, $118,625 per megawatt annually. These record prices will directly impact the capacity charges on electricity bills for large power consumers.

The company states that these rising costs necessitate active demand management for large electricity users. Rodan Energy's solutions aim to help clients reduce expenses and generate revenue by offering grid flexibility. Rodan manages the entire process, from strategy and enrollment to operations and billing.

"Large power users are facing rising energy costs, sustainability commitments, and growing pressure on reliability, all at once," said Paul Grod, CEO of Rodan Energy Solutions. "Dynamically managing demand is no longer an option; it is a requirement for running a competitive operation at today's prices."

Rodan Energy is also expanding its behind-the-meter battery storage portfolio and is seeking partners, including commercial and industrial energy users, battery manufacturers, and financial institutions. The company is also in discussions with data center operators and electric vehicle fleet managers.
