Rohde & Schwarz Acquires Satellite Communication Firms, Expands Product Line
Rohde & Schwarz has acquired NEOSAT and PHYTRONIC to enhance its satellite communication capabilities. The company also launched a new direction-finding antenna and RF power transfer standards.
Munich – Technology group Rohde & Schwarz has strengthened its position in satellite communications by acquiring Dresden-based deep-tech companies NEOSAT and PHYTRONIC. The acquisitions are intended to bolster the company's expertise in secure and resilient satellite communication solutions for the aerospace and defense sectors.
NEOSAT and PHYTRONIC are developing technologies for multi-antenna satellite systems and enabling global connectivity for machines and sensors via satellite. Their work on innovative transmission methods in space complements Rohde & Schwarz's existing technology portfolio.
In addition to the acquisitions, Rohde & Schwarz has launched the new R&S®ADD607 compact direction-finding antenna. This antenna is designed for complex signal environments and aims to meet the evolving needs of spectrum regulators and military spectrum managers in mobile monitoring systems.
The company also introduced the R&S NTS transfer standards for RF power traceability applications up to 170 GHz, further expanding its range of metrological reference solutions.
