Munich, March 5, 2026 – Technology company Rohde & Schwarz has acquired Software Radio Systems (SRS), a specialist in software-defined radio (SDR) systems. The acquisition is intended to solidify Rohde & Schwarz's standing in the market for mobile and wireless communications software, particularly in emerging areas such as non-terrestrial networks (NTN) and 6G technologies.

SRS, founded in 2012 with headquarters in Ireland, will expand its technology portfolio in conjunction with Rohde & Schwarz. The company is recognized for its expertise in mobile and radiocommunications software. Through this integration, SRS gains access to deeper technical resources and a global reach, which is expected to accelerate its growth and technology scaling.

Goce Talaganov, Vice President Mobile Radio Testers at Rohde & Schwarz, described the acquisition as a natural step. "SRS combines extensive telecommunications and wireless expertise with agile software development, making it an ideal complement to our mobile radio testing portfolio," Talaganov stated.

SRS CEO Paul Sutton emphasized the company's continuity. "We will continue to operate as SRS with our existing leadership team and strategic priorities. With Rohde & Schwarz, we gain the support of a global technology leader, which will accelerate the execution of our roadmap and expand the impact of our software-defined solutions."

The merger is anticipated to create synergies that will advance the development of software-defined mobile networks, supporting the growth of both companies and their customers in future communication technologies.
