Rohde & Schwarz Acquires ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems, Broadening Test & Measurement Portfolio

Munich / Oberursel – Rohde & Schwarz has acquired ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems GmbH as of July 1, 2025. The German-based company ZES ZIMMER has been designing and manufacturing high-precision power measurement equipment for four decades.

The acquisition complements Rohde & Schwarz's existing test and measurement (T&M) product portfolio, specifically in the field of power electronics. The rapid advancement of electrification in the energy and mobility sectors has made power electronics a critical driver of transformation. ZES ZIMMER's focus on innovative solutions has aimed for continuous growth, and its product range is expected to strengthen Rohde & Schwarz's position in this expanding market.

ZES ZIMMER, which employs approximately sixty people, will be fully integrated into the Rohde & Schwarz group. The company's Oberursel location will be retained and will continue to serve as a hub for the development and production of power measurement equipment. Both companies share a long tradition as privately owned entities, united by a commitment to technology and innovation.

Rohde & Schwarz stated that the acquisition is a significant step in its long-term growth strategy. It is expected to enhance the company's capability to provide reliable solutions in power measurement and unlock synergistic benefits. The managing partner of ZES ZIMMER anticipates that the merger with Rohde & Schwarz will enable the utilization of new growth opportunities, driven by increasing demand for power electronics and related measurements due to factors such as decarbonization and electrification.
