Munich/Rome – Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG and Elettronica S.p.A. (ELT) have entered into a Framework Cooperation Agreement to jointly explore potential business opportunities in electronic warfare and defense technologies. The agreement establishes a structured basis for the companies to evaluate and pursue future commercial opportunities across multiple operational domains, including land, airborne, space, and cyber.

The collaboration aims to combine the companies' complementary capabilities in electromagnetic spectrum operations, aerospace, and defense electronics. This partnership intends to address future European and international market needs by leveraging their combined expertise in system integration.

"This agreement represents an important step in strengthening our international cooperation and enhancing our ability to respond to increasingly complex procurement requirements," stated Paolo Izzo, SVP Global Sales & Business Development at Elettronica. "With Rohde & Schwarz, a global leader with highly complementary capabilities, we can combine our respective strengths to offer more competitive solutions."

Rohde & Schwarz highlighted that the agreement provides a strong foundation to build on existing collaboration and assess where their combined capabilities can create value for customers, particularly in areas like Counter-UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and ground-based ESM (Electronic Support Measures).

The framework outlines general principles for cooperation, including project evaluation, aligning technical and commercial approaches, and determining potential workshare based on each company's distinct technological strengths. Specific collaborations will be detailed in separate project agreements.
